What is NDA?

Cadets of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force train together at the National Defence Academy (NDA), the Indian Armed Forces' combined defence service training facility, before moving on to their individual service academies for additional pre-commission training. In Khadakwasla, Pune, Maharashtra, the NDA is situated. It is the world's first tri-service academy. For entry into the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA, UPSC administers the NDA test. Candidates who want to join the Army, Navy, or Air Force should take this exam as a first step. NDA I and NDA II are two national-level exams held twice a year to aid applicants in pursuing a career in the Defense forces. Candidates must pass the National Defense Academy & Naval Academy (NDA & NA) Examination in order to go on to the Service Selection Board's personality test or interview, which is a two-step process (SSB). Guidelines for selection and the final administration of the entrance test are only issued by the UPSC. The written exam and the SSB interview are the two components of the NDA selection procedure. If you do well on the written test, you will only be invited to the interview. The UPSC administers the written examination. The Service Selection Board will conduct the interview.
